Prezi Presentation

This is my first time using Prezi and I really enjoyed it.  It took me a very minutes to navigate through the software to learn the different tools and the wonderful features available.  This is a very exciting and creating tool that I know my students would love to use!  I am always searching for innovative tools to use in the classroom. PowerPoints and Moviemaker are great presentation tools to use but this tool allow students to use their creativity skills and explore so many different ideas.

I love the fact that with Prezi students are able to work on an access their presentations online. Students have the capability to create slides and contents of any size and colors. In addition, the zooming features allows them to focus on different elements.  This helps create a more visual image of the presentation by showing the audience the "Big Picture", concepts and specific details.  These features can help students enhance their comprehension and retention of information.

Furthermore, Prezi capabilities are very similar to using SmartBoard or Mimio.   The cost effectiveness of using a program similar to SmartBoard or Mimio is a way to cut cost.  Prezi allows teachers and students to access the version for free.

As a first time user of  Prezi there are a few challenges I observed while using the software.  Prezi is still a new technology, therefore, people will have to learn how to use it.  If computer users are not skilled with using software that require them to select, drag and click may find Prezi confusing at first.

Also, some of the tasks may become a distraction from the lesson become the user has to become very skill on how to use the software. Therefore, this may be very challenging for some students who may have difficulty with creating the presentation.

Overall, I really enjoyed this new innovative tool.  I plan to use Prezi for my writing assignments and as a class review.  This is a very cool tool that I definitely can't wait to introduce to my students.

This is one of my enjoyments about teaching is watching the kids eyes "light up" when they are introduced to something new, fun and interesting!!!!!!!
